the location of a county in San Joaquin County, California, the United States

Stockton is a city in the San Joaquin Valley in northern California.

understanding

Stockton is located in the San Joaquin Delta, the world's most inland natural port and used to be a major port city. One of the largest cities from I-5 to Central Valley, it's a convenient station that offers a variety of restaurants and accommodations for tourists. There are several shopping centers, movie theaters and art museums, but there are few big attractions.

The lost baseball team "Madville Nine" poem "Casey at the Bat" may point to Stockton. It was formerly called Madville.

Stockton Map (California)

by car

Stockton is located between State 5 and State 99 in central California. Stockton is located just north of the interstate 205. The National Route 26, 4 and 88 also cross Stockton.

  • From the San Francisco Bay area, select Interstate 580 to 205 East, join north and enter Interstate 5.
  • From Reno and North Lake Taho, an interstate 80 is moved west, a sacramento is moved south, and an interstate 5 is moved.
  • From South Lake Taho, take Route 50 America to the west, take Sacramento, and go south in Interstate 5.
  • From Redding and the northwest of the Pacific Ocean, go south in interstate.
  • From the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California, take the 5-State route and the 99-State route to the north.

Plane

  • 1 Stockton Metropolitan Airport (SCK IATA), a small airport from Las Vegas, Phoenix Mesa (not the main Phoenix airport), and San Diego. United Express also offers a flight to Los Angeles. There is a larger airport with more connections in the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay area. Unfortunately, Sacramento Airport is far northwest (about 60 miles), not between the two cities. Save a lot of morning and evening commute time. Auckland is about ten miles ahead.     (Updated April 2020)

by train

For both commuter trains and local trains, Stockton is relatively well treated as a railroad. On weekdays, the Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) makes four round trips between Stockton and San Jose. Amtrack also runs by the Sun Joaquin train, via Stockton, between Bacasfield and Oakland/Sacramento.

It is important to realize that there are two stations. ACE and Amtrak go back and forth to Sacramento and use Robert J. 949, East Channel Street, at Carnal station. The Sanjoaquin Street 735S is used for trains arriving at and departing from Oakland at Amtrak Station 3Sanjoaquin Street.

keep ~ safe

Stockton is known for its very high crime rate and is often listed as the "most dangerous" list in the ranking of cities of the same size. Common sense helps to determine whether a region is safe to walk and explore, and the transition between a relatively safe region and a relatively dangerous region is often very urgent. Except for large, bright and crowded shopping centers, it is strongly recommended that you avoid most of the areas of the night when walking. The area also has a very high rate of car theft and is sometimes called the "City of Car Theft in the World," and it always locks the car so you can't see your valuables. I-5 is also likely to be traded on drugs through the city. Stockton has been notorious for gangster violence and the massacre at the country's first school. However, in the last few years, Stockton has focused on improving the downtown and improving its reputation.
